Pre-Screening of "Hidden Figures".

Happy Sunday everyone,

Last Tuesday before we jumped into the Holidays, our BWTR ladies decided to get together for fun night at the theater. We enjoyed a pre-screening of the film "Hidden Figures."

This title sound familiar? It may be because the film is actually based on the novel 'Hidden Figures' by Margot Lee Shetterly. It was co-written as a screenplay by Allison Schroeder and then later picked up and produced into a film with Theodore Melfi as its director.

Hidden Figures is a biographical film based on the black mathematician Katherine Johnson and colleagues Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson. These women worked in a segregated division of NASA. Despite their adversities they eventually aided NASA to come out on top of the Space Race against Cold War rival USSR.

Sounds good, doesn't it?  Based on what our members told us, it was a very good movie. As it is with many historical films, the hardship is real but the triumph is always worth a retold story.

One member said "That was a Excellent movie it was hurtful to see that we had to deal with two challenges the color of our skin and being a woman but the victory was seeing the process of how the women handled the challenges!!!"

Experience the inspiring story of Hidden Figures for yourself. It was be in theaters this Christmas, December 25!
