Giving Back to the Homeless Community

Happy Sunday,

I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I know many of us are getting on board with the holidays. Folks working themselves into a tizzy by putting up lights, decorating their homes and even busting out the Christmas tree. We sure can sure get swept up in all the festivities. Sometimes in the midst of the hustle and bustle of life, you forget about the joys of the simple things. We sometimes forget how blessed and fortunate we truly are. Last week a member of ours decided to organize an effort to give back to a community that has very little. The community that can be invisible as times. The community I'm referring to is the homeless community. A community made up of adults, teens, children and whole families.

We decided to collect items that people are in direct need of. Simple things that we take for granted such as hygiene products (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes),  blankets to keep warm and gloves to wear.

We all met in the inner cities to disperse our items.  People gathered in a line to receive a packet of goods. It feels so good to give.  It really does.

I want to thank everyone who came out and those who donated the items. To some, the little things are big things. It is amazing how our efforts can make a big impact to another person.
