The City of Tempe's 19th Annual MLK Diversity Awards

Happy Friday,

Hope everyone has had a pleasant week despite all the rain. Our typically sunny valley has been experiencing an interesting shift in weather. It seems for the last couple weeks we've had bursts of clouds and rain. It's a strange phenomenon if you're not from here, how to dress on these kinds of days. The weather says 'bundle up' but your intuition tells you it's not nearly as cold as it looks. So you end up dressed somewhere in between a tee shirt and a sweater, awkwardly sporting a mostly dry umbrella. That's Phoenix for you. Speaking of gloomy weather, I've been under the weather myself. *Sniff, sniff* Don't worry though, this post isn't contagious!  Thankfully, I'm feeling a little better as this as this week comes to an end.

I wanted to follow up on my previous post. If you haven't read my Monday's post regarding MLK day, click here.

I wanted to spotlight BWTR's participation in the City of Tempe's 19th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Awards last Sunday morning. It was a lovely event featuring several prominent individuals and community organizations. There we enjoyed a delightful breakfast and listened to several influential speakers such as Ahmad Daniels.

I want to thank everyone who was able to participate in this event. It really shows other community members how much as care when we able support one another. Thank you again!
